Summary/Abstract: Aim: To study the opinion of dental medicine students on the major problems and challenges they face after graduating. Material and Methods: The study was conducted among 160 students of dental medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at Plovdiv Medical University. The sociological method used is a direct individual survey. The questionnaire includes questions about the main problems and challenges that young people face after they have graduated from university. The results were processed with SPSS v.10. Results: The main problems that young dental doctors face are the lack of funds for postgraduate training and qualification (specialized courses are extremely expensive); over-concentration of dental doctors in large cities, especially those with dental faculties; the lack of a state policy to regulate this process; the outdated ordinance for acquiring a specialty in the field of health care (Ordinance No. 1 of January 22, 2015), which leads to the impossibility of upgrading knowledge and specializations.
