OSNOVNI PROBLEMI SOCIOLOGIJE SAZNANJA
BASIC PROBLEMS OF THE SOCIOLOGY OF KNOWLEDGE

Summary/Abstract: In this paper is published the introduction to the systematic part of the course on the sociology of knowledge which has been taught by the author at the Faculty ot Philosophy in Beograd. After a brief discussion of the subject-matter of this sociological discipline and its relationships with the theory of knowledge and different scientific disciplines, the following sections deal with (a) the place of knowledge within the frame of social consciousness and culture, (b) the structural analysis of intellectual products and the principles of the evaluation of their cognitive value, (c) the socio-historical frames of the social determination of consciousness, ideas and cognitive activities, (d) the groups of the producers and disseminators of ideas and knowledge, and (e) the nature of social determination of consciousness, ideas and cognitive activities.
