Summary/Abstract: As Gleb's Journey is an authobiography, the author of the article explains this term, shows analogies and proves its belonging to an autobiographical genre. The whole novel has a common spirit pervading it. And this spirit comes from a very deep sense of longing so characteristic of Russian religious culture as a whole. That is why this work is very emotional and appeals to the readers. It is very realistic because Zaitsev showed his life road from atheizm to deep and mature belief.
