Summary/Abstract: Religious liberty and liberty of conscience are important components of a religious group like Baptists. In this context we are discussing about a secular society as Romania during communists period were we had a difference between official language and reality. Romanian Communist Party has tried to create a new society with a new mentality were was no place for religion. It’s important to understand that Baptist Churches and their believers have their own identity who was affirmed in the society despite the fact that they have been persecuted. In this way, we understand the relationship between the religion and State, the way that religious liberty was reflected in public mentality in the last years of Communism in Romania.
