Summary/Abstract: A decline in interest in traditional productive occupations in the Bor Mines has called for an interdisciplinary researsh into the factors affecting secondary school pupils’ choice of occupation. The point of departure is that this inidvidual act of choice is also conditioned by, above all, the development of self-management and socio-economic relations, as well as the division of labour and the pupils' system of values.
