The Second Synod of the Koszalin-Kolobrzeg (Kołobrzeg) Diocese as a Sign of Time and a Tool of the New Evangelization

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to show how the interpretation of the signs of the times may affect the development of the new evangelization tools. Firstly, the concept of time signs is presented. The next part of the study discusses the Polish signs of the times in the reflection of Polish bishops and theologians. Moreover, the phenomenon of the new evangelization is presented. The obstacles and difficulties, as well as positive phenomena in the work of the new evangelization in the Polish reality have been discussed in the article on the base of the documents of the II Polish Plenary Synod. Besides, the phenomenon of synodality in the context of the Church’s revival is presented. The article shows how the II Synod of the Koszalin-Kolobrzeg (Kołobrzeg) Diocese responds to the pastoral needs of its addressees, pointing the synodal formation of lay faithful. The last part of the study presents how the created structure of the II Synod of the Koszalin-Kolobrzeg (Kołobrzeg) Diocese becomes a tool for reading, resear¬ching and interpreting the signs of the times.
