Summary/Abstract: Nowadays increasingly importance of spatial data induces municipalities to develop spatial data management strategies and some municipalities have prefered more effeicient service delivery way by Urban Information System applications, developed by them . However, similar data production in different ways by other public institution delivering services for urban causes loss of a lot of time and money and spatial data produced by an institution can’t be used by another institution.The spatial data infrastructure , important in that point, collaborates among all public institutions, local administrations, private sector, all sectors needing spatial data and we can face with this as politics enabling to use and access for the services and data needeb by all sectors online. Therefore, producing and standartizing spatial data efficiently is only possible by spatial data infrastructure politics. In this study, spatial data infrastructure politics having great importance for municipalities will be deal with as well as current developments in point of EU process and Information Society Strategies, in quality of roadmap for Turkey’s information society.
