Summary/Abstract: Over the last two decades, the Slovak economy has undergone several restructuring processes, which have modified its character to maximize the benefits of services. These processes have also contributed to changes in the creation, development, and delivery of services. Modern services have arisen as a result of new information and communication technologies (ICT) and the Internet. The concept of the Internet economy refers to the utilization of ICT in individual countries. This article aims to detect the attained level of the Internet economy in Slovakia, and how it affects the performance of market services. Despite the slow pace of development in the Internet economy in Slovakia, the survey results have confirmed its positive impact on the performance of market services.
