Summary/Abstract: The article traces the development of matrimonial property regimes according to the Bulgarian legislation, the norms of the Bulgarian customary family law, the Ecloga, the Exarchal Statute, the first secular laws in the field of family property law, as well as the provisions of the Family Code of 1968 (repealed), The Family Code of 1985 (repealed) and the Family Code currently in effect.
