A SOCIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF THE GENERAL URBAN PLAN OF BELGRADE

Summary/Abstract: Experience through out the world has shown that no effort or money invested in the urban planning of big cities can help to overcome numerous evils which are in their nature. The Belgrade of today, with its huge population of some million people, most of which are still illiterate and burdened with characteristics of rural mentality common to this stage of development of our country, is far too big be able to satisfy the basic needs of its inhabitants and far too big to allow rational arrangement.
