FACTORS AFFECTING CHOICES OF TEACHING METHODS AND TECHNIQUES: AN ADDITIVE VIEW

Summary/Abstract: There is no teaching method or technique that cannot be applicable, suitable or functional for every lesson, topic, aim, teacher or student etc. Each method and technique has a purpose, advantage, terms of use, superior and restricted aspects. This situation bring the factors affecting choices of teaching methods and techniques into the forefront. In the literature, it is seen that the factors affecting choices of teaching methods and techniques are not included in some studies while these factors are indicated as items or mentioned in parts in other researches. In this current study carried out based on literature review, the factors affecting choices of teaching methods and techniques were examined firstly. Then, with an additive point of view, the factors affecting choices of teaching methods and techniques that were mentioned theoretically or defined as a result of study in an implicit way were explained in detail. With this study, it is expected to shed light to the research area by handling the factors affecting choices of teaching methods and techniques as a whole.
