Summary/Abstract: The idea around which I built this accompanying discourse/ preface of the debut volume Câinele cu ochii albaștri. Poeme de ieri și de azi of the poet Gabriel Dinu started with "Pascal's wager", which postulates that all people bet their lives either on the existence of God or on his non-existence. I held the opinion that the poems in this volume form a (false) Postmodern treatise on personal Christian apologetics in a world where man's best friends/ beloved seem to be dogs. The only non-losing choice for a rational man - and Gabriel Dinu does not write sentimental, emotional, lazy poetry - is, in my opinion, the stake of the entire lyrical discourse. I thing that God exists. If God exists – and I believe that God exists, seems to say the poet - I won the Infinit/ the Sky/ the Everything. In the end, we read the Postmodern story of the "blue-eyed dog" as a "de-dramatization" of the messianic symbol; the architecture of the work, of life in general and of any form of life understood as a cosmos of salvation / redemption becomes an assembly that is due to its own coherence.
