Summary/Abstract: Reviewing the usability of socio-cultural constructions of family and parenthood in modern Montenegro, in this paper I deal with the ways administrative policies shape these concepts in order to make them suitable for EU demands. In this respect, one of the main topics is the issue of new reproduction technologies which led to redefining the concept of kinship and parenthood, simultaneously questioning the concept of same-sex marriage and the increasingly significant phenomenon of adoption of children who belong to a different ethnic and national background. Significant part of this paper is dedicated to an analysis of administrative policies which will help me make an attempt at defining the way they (re)define traditional family relationships by introducing the new forms of parenthood.
