HOW SENIORS MANAGE AND VALUE TIME

Summary/Abstract: The goal of this work was to explore ways in which elderly members of society manage and value their time, especially how they define and spend their spare time. Key criterion in defining old age, for this purpose, is the status of a retired individual. Based on the answers of six people, we analyzed a specific paradox older population comes across, concerning passing, experiencing and fulfilling their time. Spare time in their elderly everyday life, opposed to their individual perception of limitations they feel entering the last stage of human existence, which old age is, is only one of the problems that surface when one is retired. This phenomenon was studied among active, independent older persons.
