Summary/Abstract: This paper takes a look at the evolution of the Web and the digital products and services that were forged within it. It attempts to trace the progress of the internet’s design, to outline its current status, and to forecast its potential development. It also discusses the ability of design to influence culture to an extent that exceeds its explicit and implicit objectives.
