Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the results of a project called Kritika překladu včera, dnes a zítra (subproject of the project Bohemistika: moderní filologie v 21. století of IGA 2018). The focus of this subproject were translation quality assessment and methods which can be employed as a basis for analysis of translated texts. The aim was to apply a new translation quality assessment model based on the model created by Lance Hewson using diverse types of translated texts. The three presented studies are concerned with the analysis of audiovisual translation (namely film subtitles), poetry translation (namely Japanese poetic form tanka) and translation of pragmatic texts (namely official documents of the European Union). All of the above-mentioned works employ the same theoretical framework which is designed not only for academic analyses but also for the use in public space, i.e. for instance in journalistic texts (reviews of translated texts etc.).
