Summary/Abstract: Music therapy is a direction in psychotherapy and psychological correction, based on the use of various musical works for therapeutic purposes. In the narrow sense of the word, music therapy usually refers to audio art therapy, the purpose of which is to influence the patient’s psycho-emotional state. The main goal of music therapy is to harmonize the mental state by developing the ability to self-expression and self-knowledge. The use of music for therapeutic purposes lies in the fact that it can be used on a symbolic level for expressing and exploring a variety of feelings and emotions: love, hate, resentment, anger, fear, joy. This article will consider various types and forms of music therapy, as well as cases of its use in various situations.
