Summary/Abstract: The article consists of introduction, four parts and conclusions. In the article are analyzed the standardization problems of cartographic signs’ which are used in Lithuanian school geography and history atlases. In the first and second parts Standardization and standard conception and Standardization and standard conception in cartography are given short presentations of these concepts in general and then particular in cartography. In the third part are identified and described The standardization levels of cartographic signs. In the fourth part Standardization problems in the educational cartographic publications is stressed the standardization demand, necessity and possibilities of cartographic signs that are used in geography and history atlases.
