Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the organization model of modular education as an alternative to the present linear planning when the teaching program is prepared by planning according to the objectives. The aim of this article is to reveal the organization of modular education by dividing the content of geography education for classes 9–10 and 11–12 into shorter periods. The concept of modular education as well as opportunities in Lithuania are also discussed in the presentation. Moreover, the possible division of content of geographical modular programs for classes 9–10 and 11–12 is analyzed. Finally the experience of Finnish and Estonian modular education is discussed.
