Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the value of the virtual learning environment in terms of enhancing motivation for learning. The author takes into account two selected motivational theories: theory of goals and self-determination theory. The implementation of education in a virtual environment refers to the as¬sumptions of these theories. It is assumed that the use of digital technology in education supports the learning process and is a good way to build positive motivation to learn.
