Summary/Abstract: From the Romanian scientists who contributed to the development of Romanian ethnology and ethnography in the period between 1919–1940, this study makes reference to the following:Vasile Parvan, Simion Mehedinţi, Ştefan Manciulea, Romulus Vuia,Nicolae Iorga, George Valsan, Gheorghe I. Brătianu, Mircea Eliade,Constantin Rădulescu-Motru, Ion Conea and Vasile Goldiș. They and many others created the Romanian ethnography, related to the scientific doctrines of the European ethnological schools, which has universal values and highlights the past of the millenary material life of the Dacian-Romanian people on the Carpathian-Danube-Pontic territory, based on the numerous testimonies in this space of our people’s uninterrupted life over millennia. This article highlights aspects of the material culture of the Romanian people and their way of life from their beginnings to the middle of the 20th century, as well as the contributions of the Romanian ethnographers in the years 1919–1940 for the affirmation of ethnography as a universal science.
