Aesthetics Of Virtual Reality

Summary/Abstract: The influence of new technological media, from television to computer, is changing the outlines of our traditional forms of life and understanding. The discovery of the new areas of artificial simulations of reality have caused the transformation of that what we experience as real. Beside the fact that the understanding of technique as a pure means lost its strength because of its association with science, today the new technological entity, which pretends to get the name of specific form of reality, emerges, to be often experienced as the favorite one. Having its beginning in the wish for imitating the reality, “the virtual reality”, as the firstgrade simulation, became the field on which we could obtain different, but principally aestheticised experiences. Alongside with giving the new dimension to the meaning of aesthetic, “virtual reality”, no matter if it is understood as a dangerous illusion or a valuable refuge, essentially influences the understanding of reality, and, at the same time, of our understanding in general.
