Summary/Abstract: Based on the fact that cultural and musical history of Serbia is closely related with cultural and musical history of the region, the paper examines the way in which multiculturalism, as one of the inevitably features that indicate the geographical and geopolitical determinants of the Balkan and the Mediterranean regions, manifested in Serbian art music and what the significance of this social phenomenon may have for actual cultural connections in the region.
