Kadibogaz Gathering: A Contribution To Understanding Border Gatherings

Summary/Abstract: This work is a contribution to understanding a phenomenon of Serbo-Bulgarian bordergatherings, giving an example of Gathering traditionally held at Kadibogaz mountain curve between Knjazevac, Serbia and Belogradchik, Bulgaria. It has been studied over the years mostly through Serbian newspaper reports, as well as othersources, and it is put into historical contextits role is considered in specific macro and micro political and social milieu. It is complex and diversified social occurrence, and an analysis has singled out four of its functions: 1) meeting of people 2) trading 3) entertainment 4) politics. Each of the functions is considered separately.
