Summary/Abstract: One of the main characteristics of the contemporary age is the technological development which has brought about the appearance of the Internet as the way of global connecting through verbal, audio/visual and verbal, connected communication where, at the same time, many people can participate. Internet also gives us the availability of the enormous number of information, great possibilities of entertainment, advertising, shopping etc. But, at the same time, it brings also the risk of addiction, manipulation in presenting our identity, depersonalization and the distance from the traditional, physical contact “face to face”. In the communication in cyber space many nonverbal signals are missing and these can give us much significant information about the person we are communicating with. The purpose of this article is to highlight the relationship between the emotional intelligence as the very significant factor of life success, on the one hand, and the presence in the cyber space, on the other hand, and also to highlight its influence on the interpersonal communication in the cyber space.
