Summary/Abstract: In an age when disciplines meet through the multidisciplinarity, the interdisciplinarity and even the trans-disciplinarity, thus allowing new interpretations of the world and of the universe, María Noel Lapoujade from the National Autonomous University of Mexico proposes us, through her book-essay L’ima-gination esthétique. Le regard de Vermeer (Preface René Schérer. EME Éditions, Coll. Transversales philosophiques, 2017), a particular philosophical approach. A philosophical approach which feeds mainly on Aristotle, Heraclitus and Plato, on Leibniz, Descartes, Pascal and Spinoza, on Kant, Wittgenstein, Nietzsche, Hegel and Husserl, but also on Bachelard, Barthes, Caillois, Eliade, Wunenburger, on Goethe, Baudelaire, Proust, Rilke, Valéry, on Ignace of Loyola and Master Eckhart, onHuygens and Einstein. A philosophy that also feeds on books- documents about painting or music. Thus, Jan Vermeer, the illustrious Dutch painter’s creation is interpreted in the perspective of the other centers of interest of the time in terms of knowledge, namely philosophy and science, especially with Descartes, Spinoza and Huygens, religion, litterature, all with contemporary instruments of research.
