Summary/Abstract: The report seeks to answer the question whether asylum seekers in Bulgaria are opportunity for development or potential for conflicts. Statistical data on the socio- demographic characteristics of immigrants are analyzed, as well as information revealing their desires and plans about their future in Europe. Information from a representative national survey on different aspects of the attitudes of the local population towards them has been also discussed.
