Summary/Abstract: This text is nothing but an attempt at writing a very brief biography of rather famous personality. And this is rather tricky, because when trying to sketch a short biography of an influential personality of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, it is important to avoid a number of traps. First and foremost, one needs to remember that the person in question was and still is a living creature with all the feelings, interests and desires one may have. As such, one needs to avoid giving the impression of a character without depth. This personality was deeply involved in everything one has ever attempted. The results of this incessant work were not only immediate and positive but also elicited a long-lasting reaction on behalf of the public. Secondly, again, due to its complexity, one needs to be careful so as not to portray the personality of this historical person in a single canonical manner, as this type of writing may end up presenting a very stern image in a very uninteresting text. It is very easy to try and claim to be neutral by presenting the reader with a number of events in the life of this person listed in chronological order. Thirdly, one needs to be careful and present accurate information, as any inaccuracies may lead to a measure of disbelief on behalf of the presumptive reader. There are many resources which have been made readily accessible by digitalisation. But what seems to be a boon of information may slowly prove to be the Achilles’ heel of this whole process. These resources may contain inaccuracies and taking them for granted may result in an illogical flow of events. In the following lines, one has made an attempt at portraying the most obvious manifestations of the personality of Brian May. These manifestations are not just a question of complementarity. Instead, one is well-advised to view them in their entirety as a very interesting framework. It is within this framework that the interest of the young self has lead to a fruitful life in entertainment as well as to a parallel if postponed career in higher education. To wit, Brian May has become famous for playing his guitar. At the same time though he was very much interested in researching the stars, and he succeeded therein as well. It hard to say, though, which one of these passions came first. They seem to have to have grown together organically.
