Summary/Abstract: Person's health could be affected by a number of natural and human involved threats, including epidemics, emerging communicable diseases and human health conditions associated with mass migration of large groups of people.Providing healthcare is one of the major challenges faced by the European Union in connection with the intensive migration process existing nowadays. Health is an essential element for the well-being of migrants and caring for them is a contribution to society as a whole.Conditions linked to migration process and establishment in the host country, especially in adverse circumstances, may lead to increase of vulnerability and worsening of the health status of migrants. The European cooperation networks support the sharing of information and expertise as well as dissemination of best practices by creating systems for the insurance of coordinated and effective detection and response to health threats.Legal status is one of the most important factors determining the access of migrants to health care. Every refugee and migrant must have full and permanent access to medical services and access to high-quality of healthcare.
