Summary/Abstract: A picture from the so-called Palach week (January 1989) can be seen in one of the photographs preserved from the time: Police officers from the Public Security Corps (SNB) equipped with helmets and batons push out from Wenceslas Square an elderly woman in a tightly-buttoned overcoat and a nylon beret, then already out-of-fashion. Musicians from the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra also attended these demonstrations, to be found at the same place with a slogan saying “The Czech Philharmonic Not Playing But Speaking” in November 1989.
