Summary/Abstract: Along the time, for Romanians living in Faget, too, the Church played a staggering part in maintaining the national faith, culture and identity, in the crystallization and up-keeping of national perception. The first priests in the Făget area were recorded in the first half of the 16th century, although narratives imply that some of them were recorded at the end of the previous century. The first information about religious life in the Făget area, at the level of the current research, dates back to 1511. The first priests in the current Făget archpriestship were certified to have existed in the first half of the 16th century , though narratives imply that some of them were recorded at the end of the previous century.
