Summary/Abstract: Research in the field of social pedagogy should cover comprehensive issues taking a multidisciplinary perspective. It is especially important for an interdisciplinary approach to problem identification, exploration and solving where practical aspects have become socially significant. Therefore, the research in diagnosing the residents of Tychy with certain health problems, focusing on the incidence of cervical carcinoma and related mortality, was supplemented with the residents’ views on the municipal preventive program and was carried out in line with the current socio-educational tasks in relation to people (provision of normal human development), environment (which defines human development and the functioning of communities), values (which condition the processes of transformation of man and his habitat), and social actions (which lead to modifications and improvements in human environment). The research was carried out as a part of another research and education project, entitled Prevention of Cervical Carcinoma, or How it is Done in Tychy. An Analysis of Knowledge Sources and the Views on HPV Vaccines, which was funded with a grant by the Polish Cancer League Foundation. The research results presented here make just a part of the project carried out between January and June 2017. The conclusions presented may contribute to practical efforts in increasing the potential for health in local communities.
