Summary/Abstract: This paper is a follow-up to a recent writing by Géza Balázs, titled “The end of Traditional Media and its Consequences”. Displaying varied arguments, but without aiming at providing an exhaustive explanation, it is asserted that – despite imminent threats – it is premature to decide if the traditional, professional journalism will be supplanted by civic journalism or by social media outlets. Beside of this, it is pointed out that media workers, regardless of their being professional or citizen journalists, as well as media consumers need to be guided by media literacy, news literacy and information literacy.
