Summary/Abstract: This text analyzes the urban legend of a worker who, suspecting his wife’s infidelity, pours concrete into an expensive vehicle parked in front of their house, as a story about the value system in the American society. The suspicious husband turns out to be the fool, because his wife, who had been saving for it for a long time, purchased the car as a gift to him; and the man he saw with her was the car dealer. This legend implies that family concordance, hard work and saving are means to accomplish desired goals.
