A Problem of Consciousness – From the Lack of the Icon to the Image Crisis in Contemporary Society

Summary/Abstract: The theme proposed in this study is an attempt to respond to one of the biggest current crises: image crisis. We are unfortunately living in a world that no longer has the sacred vertically image, but only the day-old faces of horizontality. Why happened this? Because we lost the sacred authentic image. Because we became too horizontal in life. We are bent over materiality and forget to look at the sacred image of heaven and God. The icon is the only image that resists time and space, because it comes from the eternal face of God. The icon is also a sacred image and a holy divine presence, full of grace. The world needs a return from the prosaic and banal image to the real icon that sanctifies us.
