Summary/Abstract: The process of European integration is still ongoing in Serbia, despite its partial success, frequent oscillations, and the lack of clarity about the opinion of both elites and public concerning EU accession. The young, whose future will in most part be determined by the future EU accession, are living the reality of transition. This research, conducted in a high school in downtown Belgrade, represents an attempt to discern how they envisage the future after transition and what they expect from European integrations. The majority of students is oriented towards European accession, expecting economical improvement and the elevation of standard, but at the same time being aware of the supposed negative aspects of integrations. Europe is conceptualized as a group of countries with developed economies and high standard of living, but, at the same time, respondents have a negative evaluation of the working and enterpreneurial spirit they associate with it.
