Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of the relation between mental imagining and reader’s emotional engagement in fiction. It examines how reader’s visualization can order and provoke intense emotional response to fictional events and people. Presented is the reader’s ability to build mental images as an important part of cognitive processes connected with reading.
