Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to compare academic performance levels of Albanian students with those of OECD members and partners, as well as to investigate the relationship between gender and academic performance in reading, writing and literature, mathematics and science, focused on PISA 2015. To fulfill these objectives this article relies on a quantitative approach.. The format for review of official documentation instrument is used based on the secondary data of the percentage of students at each proficiency level in reading, mathematics, and science by gender according to PISA 2015 results. The main conclusions of the study highlight: (1) Males display better academic performance than females in the lowest and highest level, meanwhile females perform better than males in medium level in reading, mathematics and science, although there are differences between Albania and OECD members and partners. (2) There is positive correlation between gender and reading, mathematics, and science academic performance.
