Summary/Abstract: The discussion about the content of the concept Old (Church) Slavonic and its place in the general system of languages has been going on for more than one century and can hardly be considered complete. In the 20th century, the development of humanita-rian discourse was largely determined by the secular-scientific atheistic paradigm, which had a palpable influence on the formation of the linguistic tradition in general and functional linguistic typology in particular. The focus of this article is on the so-ciolinguistic aspects of this essential problem of Slavic linguistics. / Diskusija o sodrženju termina staro(crkveno)slovjansky jezyk i o jegovom městu v občej sisteme jezykov ide uže ne jedno stolětje, ale ju ne možno obvažati zakončenoju.
