Summary/Abstract: The study tries to explain what perceptions, representations and opinions the teachers (N = 304) and parents (N = 186) have towards the present status of the relationships between school and family in the socio-cultural context of Bulgaria. It was a part of the National survey carried out within grant from the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science. The survey confirms a sustained and unfortunately negative trend in recent years, that there is strongly reduced trust between the key subjects in the school-family relationships. On the one hand, the parents as respondents have lower expectations about the role of the school and the main educational functions of the teachers. On the other hand, the most of the teachers perceive that Bulgarian parents, although caring for the physical and material well-being of their children, are not actively involved in cooperation with the school.
