Summary/Abstract: The term „hybrid war“, as well as its synonyms „hybrid threats“, „hybrid attacks“, „hybrid influence“ and so on, has gained attention after 2014, due to the increased tension between the West and Russia, resembling this from the time of the Cold War. The notion of„hybrid war“ is also subject to increased academic interest, including because of the lack of a commonly accepted definition. At the same time, the term (and its synonyms) is actively entering the political vocabulary and hence the media coverage. The present article aims to study how the term is present in Bulgarian and European political documents and how the term is represented to the broader public through the media coverage.
