Summary/Abstract: The term “Euclidean program” was coined by philosopher and historian of mathematics Imre Lakatos for the standard approach to teaching abstract knowledge by presenting the final product without any trace of methods by which it is developed. The theorems and programs are given to student in their most recent form. The Socratic Method in contrast leads the students on the path of discovery, by making them rediscover and reinvent the same way these theorems or programs appeared on the first place. Here we propose a generalized methodology for the use of Socratic Method in teaching of theoretical informatics with the example of the Euclidean algorithm.
