Summary/Abstract: The study argues that the classic of the Romanian comedy, I. L. Caragiale (1852 - 1912), early anticipated right in the middle of the ‘La belle époque’ the impact of the future new e-media revolution. Especially in his journalistic articles, we can discover an inside criticism of corrupted media communication, as well as the principles of nowadays manipulations and fake news. The visionary work of Caragiale proves that the technological revolution is not necessary followed by spiritual development. The study and his title are focused on two Caragiale’s humoristic characters: the typical pseudo journalist Karkaleki (for the home news) and his colleague Gogumano (for international news). But those names also signify in a popular language: ‘rubbish mix’ and ‘stupidity’...
