Summary/Abstract: Parenting is a subject of research around the world, and more recently the focus of researchers are parents of children with disabilities. This paper is based on a correlation study which included parents of children with disabilities of preschool age (N = 308) in the City of Zagreb. The aim of this study was to examine the contribution of socio-demographic characteristics of the parents and the child, the parents and the welfare of the characteristics of formal and informal social support in explaining parental stress. Results of regression analysis showed the importance of the following predictors: satisfaction with marriage, health of parents, financial condition and satisfaction of informal and social support. Stronger parental stress is experienced by parents of children with disabilities who are less satisfied with marriage, and those who rate their health worse and experienced more financial difficulties.
