Summary/Abstract: On October 1st, 2011 came into force the New Civil Code, a law of a major importance and of historical significance, which repeals the former regulation dated from year 1864. In the civil Code in force, the lease and its subspecies (house rent, rent and lease of spaces for exercising business or professions) is largely regulated, rooted from a unitary legislative approach, within the Book 5th “About obligations,” Title 9 “Different Special Contracts,” Chapter 5 “About lease”.
