Summary/Abstract: This article aims to identify the determining factors for the practice of the business intelligence in the Algerian companies, particularly in the food industry within theregion of Bejaia. The academic literature highlighted three main factors likely to motivate theleaders of a company to use the business intelligence: the external environment; theorganizational profile and the adopted strategy of the company. On the Algerian context, itappears from the multiple analysis of the empirical data used in our survey that only twovariables would explain the practicing level of the global business intelligence. The first isrelated to the external environment of the company and therefore to the degree of it’scompetitive intensity, and the second is linked to the organizational profile of the company,which is reflected in their using degree of the Information & Communication technology tools.
