Summary/Abstract: While elements of soil and land, which are a part of Anâsır-ı erba‘a, are used in Divan poetry, it can be seen that this poem’s structure is often preliminary in terms of metaphorical meanings. It can be said that the most widely used words in Divan poetry are “hâk,” “gerd,” and “gubâr,” words which are considered meaningful as close to the earth. Especially the frequently encountered “hâk-i pây,” which is generally expressed as “the land of the foot of the lover.” It is very precious to rub in the eyes of lovers from this land. The traditional types of Divan poetry have also attracted attention for their portrayal of competitions between lovers. In the face of the ruthlessness of the lover, the earth is about to die. The glory of the lover was exploited from the earth while the size was explained. The lover wants the rival to die instead of himself. Apart from the examples of traditional types of Divan poetry mentioned above, proverbs and sayings about the earth and objects made from the earth reveal the significance of the soil in religion and mysticism.
