Summary/Abstract: Today, financial literacy needs to be at a certain level so that people can make decisions about their own financial situation. People with high levels of financial literacy are able to make more rational decisions and make long-term savings at the same time. The aim of this research is to determine the basic and advanced financial literacy levels, risk-return perceptions while deciding investment decisions and debit card usage habits of university students. In this context, the study group composes of 440 students studying at the Sarıkamış campus of Kafkas University as of 2017-2018 academic year. A questionnaire was prepared by using the literature as a means of data collection in the survey and it was applied to participants. The findings of the study show that the majority of the students have a high level of basic financial literacy whereas the level of advanced financial literacy is low; students are successful in managing their financial situation in general; students have habits to pay their bills on time; there is no relationship between the level of managing financial situation and gender; there is a relationship between the level of management of the situation and the departments at which they study; students do not like to take risks when investing; more than half of the students have debit cards, and many students with debit cards have knowledge of debit card transactions.
