Summary/Abstract: This research was conducted as part of the project aimed towards the construction, standardization and normatization of the first battery offour tests for assessment of auditory processing disorders in school children in Croatia, as well as determination of normative data. One of the four tests, The Monaural Filtered Words Test was administered in the sample of 143 second, third, and fourth grade primary school students. Data analysis indicated good sensitivity of the Test concerning different grades, and significant correlation of the obtained Test results with general academic performance (overall rating, reading, math skills). There were no differences in the results of The Monoaural Filtered Words Test between male andfemale students but the distribution of the results indicates greater abilities of girls. Poorer results on the Test were related to poorer language and speech skills, and poorer general academic performance and attention.
