Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this paper is to examine the structure, metric characteristics and purpose of implementation of the instrumentfor risk and treatment needs assessmentfor children with behavior disorders in the Republic of Croatia. The instrument named Youth Level of Service/Case Management Inventory (YLS/CMI) was applied. Its intention is to help in the decision making process regarding intervention, required level of service as well as prediction of treatment outcome and future behavior. The research was carried out with the sample of836 children and youth with behavior disorders who were during the research period included in institutional treatment, day treatment or community treatment programs (three subsamples). To achieve the goal of this paper, a factor analysis and robust discriminatory analysis were applied. Results of factor analysis are slightly differentfrom theoretical constructs of risk areas assessment. Metric characteristics are very goodjudging by the measures of reliability higher than 0.80. Robust discriminatory analysis fortifies statistically significant difference in almost all observed risk areas between examinees from three subsamples.
